Fritz Pro Malachite Green – Remove existing fungal growth from fish egg

Description:

Fritz Pro Aquatics Malachite Green is an effective fish disease control remedy for freshwater and marine aquariums. Malachite Green is effective in treating external parasitic, protozoan and fungal infections of fishes, and will also remove existing fungal growth from fish eggs.

Remove activated carbon from filter before treating.

Directions for Use (General Use):  Add 1 cap (1 tsp/5 ml) per 10 U.S. Gallons (38 L).  For sensitive fish (catfish, loaches, mormyrids, dwarf cichlids, barbs, gouramis and tetras), add ½ cap (½ tsp/2.5 ml) per 10 U.S. Gallons (38 L).

Directions for Use (Dips for Fish Eggs): Add 1 cap (1 tsp/5ml) to a 1 gallon (3.8 L) container of water from the breeding system. Use an airstone or water pump to create aeration and water flow. Dip eggs into bath for a maximum of 10 seconds. Immediately replace eggs into breeding system. Treat eggs one time only; do not repeat treatment.

After treatment, perform a minimum 25% water change after 24 hours. Add new carbon filter to remove Malachite Green from the system. If fungus persists, a second treatment may be necessary.

Malachite Green can interfere with nitrifying bacteria resulting in a rapid rise in ammonia and/or nitrite levels.  It is recommended to carry out treatments in a separate hospital tank or other suitable container. Malachite Green will stain all objects, especially plastics and silicone sealant.
