Origin:
The Neon Sapphire Discus is a selectively bred strain developed from wild Amazonian discus lineage. It has been refined through advanced breeding to produce an intense, glowing blue coloration with a metallic or neon sheen, often showing subtle patterning or reflective highlights. Unlike the solid Blue Diamond, this strain emphasizes luminosity and depth, giving it a more vibrant, electric appearance.

Size:
Adult Neon Sapphire Discus typically grow to about 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) in diameter.

Temperament:

• Peaceful and social fish
• Prefers to be kept in groups of 5 or more
• Sensitive to water quality, requiring stable, clean, and warm water conditions

Care Requirements:

• Water temperature: 82°F to 86°F (28°C to 30°C)
• pH: 6.0 to 7.0
• Soft to moderately hard water
• Regular water changes and a well-maintained filter system

Diet:
Omnivorous — feeds on high-quality flakes, pellets, and beef heart preparations.

• Neon Sapphire Discus are distinguished by their bright, glowing blue tone with a shimmering or reflective effect, unlike Blue Diamond Discus which display a flat, uniform matte blue color
• Under good lighting, they exhibit a “neon glow” effect, making them more eye-catching in display aquariums
• They are popular in discus breeding and showing circles because of their striking color.
