Origin:
This variety is selectively bred from wild discus species, mainly from the Amazon River basin in South America. Breeders developed this variety to highlight a brilliant metallic blue coloration with a smooth, uniform appearance, often giving the fish a shimmering “mercury-like” effect under aquarium lighting.

Size:
Adult Blue Diamond Discus typically grow to about 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) in diameter.

Temperament:

• Peaceful and social fish
• Prefers to be kept in groups of 5 or more
• Sensitive to water quality, requiring stable, clean, and warm water conditions

Care Requirements:

• Water temperature: 82°F to 86°F (28°C to 30°C)
• pH: 6.0 to 7.0
• Soft to moderately hard water
• Regular water changes and a well-maintained filter system

Diet:
Omnivorous — feeds on high-quality flakes, pellets, and beef heart preparations.
